Art Students Study Tour 2019 – PHOTOS

Yesterday, Fine Art students of Kigumba Intensive Secondary School undertook a study tour at Kyambogo University Art department. The students were led by among others, the Head Teacher Mr Ogwal Tonny, the Head of Department Mr Kasadha Benard, Mr Kiiza Aloysious and Madam Rashida among others. According to Mr Ogwal, the study tour was aimed at exposing the students to certain things that the school does not have such as poetry, wheel method, art room among others. Indeed the students spent significant time learning about ceramics. Ceramics in this case is the use of clay hardened by heating. Examples include pots, flower pots, tiles, bricks among several other products. The students who eagerly paid attention loved this session. Many wondered how much they would have missed had they not come along. The other session involved visiting the different art rooms (exhibition halls) from which they observed the different art products and how much art can do. From paintings, drawings, sculptures, toys, textile among others – this was another academically fulfilling venture. While returning home, the students saw and were explained to the different landmark features of Kampala City and other outstanding features en-route. “The students got to know what they were being taught theoretically but had never seen,” said Mr Ogwal who together with the students and the entire entourage appreciated the study tour. #Educating4aLifeTime #ProudIntensivian
